Philosophy
At Stone Mountain School, “Discovering Success” is more than a motto – it is a guiding principle in our effort to provide a premier academic and social experience for struggling boys.
We believe that enrolling in Stone Mountain School is the start of a personal journey for our students and their families.
During this journey – which begins the day a student arrives on our North Carolina campus – Stone Mountain boys discover their innate strengths, unique talents and potential for a successful and satisfying future. Their families discover how to support their sons in the most beneficial manner, and how to relate to each other in the healthiest and most productive ways.
We have dedicated ourselves to providing a safe, structured environment in which our boys can begin this journey and discover success both academically and socially.
Every aspect of this comprehensive effort – indeed, each component of the entire Stone Mountain experience – is guided three fundamental principles:
- To treat each student with compassion and respect.
- To provide a structured and supportive environment that encourages successes, mitigates the frustrations associated with setbacks, and provides students with a path toward continued progress.
- To incorporate parents into their son’s Stone Mountain experience, and to empower families to function as supportive and cohesive units.
